What our confidence marks mean.
Every figure, badge and limit on WaterRadar carries a confidence grade. Nothing that matters is shown without one — and where a number can't be verified against its primary source, we say so rather than publish it.
The confidence scale
H — verified. The claim or figure has been checked against the primary source — a filing, registry entry, standard or peer-reviewed paper — and matches it. This is the only grade we treat as a fact.
M — single-source.Credible but resting on one source, or on a secondary report we haven't yet reconciled with the primary text. Shown, but flagged as needing a lock.
L — developing.Actively moving — proposed, contested, or unresolved. Where a specific number isn't yet confirmable, we withhold the value rather than fabricate one.
The forced human read
The ◇ mark on the compliance record means a named editor read the figure against the source text by hand — no value reaches the tracker on the strength of a model summary alone.
The adversarial panel
Flagship analysis is stress-tested by three independent lenses — technical, regulatory, and source-integrity — before publication. A claim that survives fewer than two is either reworded to its defensible core or held. The panel's verdict is shown on the article itself.
Independence & corrections
WaterRadar is published by WaterDoctor, a commercial water operator. Its parent, partners and direct competitors receive the identical sourcing and adversarial treatment as any other entity — related parties are disclosed inline. When we get something wrong, the fix is dated and kept on the public corrections log. See also our editorial standards.
